GreenScape Hygrolon is a water- and UV-resistant fabric that you can use to form any shape of background or other elements in your bioactive terrarium. The loose structure of GreenScape Hygrolon’s microscopic fibres means that plants can bond to the substrate very easily and permanently, and their roots are perfectly ventilated, preventing rot and minimising the risk of infection. Unlike similar products on the market, the inner layer of GreenScape Hygrolon is made of very fine mesh. It allows pockets of Hygrolon to be created and filled even with very fine substrate, which will not be pushed through the mesh. This solution ensures perfect distribution of water and nutrients for the plants growing in the background of the terrarium.
GreenScape Hygrolon is a material that is ideal for planting with moss. Its porous structure and ability to collect and distribute water make it an ideal substrate for all kinds of bryophytes, ferns or liverworts. We particularly recommend using the ready-made Dusk MossMix moss mix available in our shop.
The installation of Hygrolon is very simple and quick – just stick it to the surface with non-toxic glue or silicone. You can also use clear fishing line when mounting it on small elements such as roots or rocks.
