Arcadia Reptile Solar Basking Infrared is a terrarium heating bulb that is designed to heat the tank using a small amount of visible light. It will work well when illuminating the terrarium during the day, but also in the evening.
We recommend using it in combination with a radiant heat and / or spot heat lamp for intense warming. Infrared light emitting bulbs are an excellent heat source for ectothermic species.
The infrared lamp emits weak, high-temperature visible light and does not emit UV-B or UV-A radiation, only infrared. It fits standard fixtures with an E27 thread.
Arcadia Reptile recommends using natural stone or sand directly under the heat source. The heated substrate allows heat to be stored naturally during the day and then gradually and slowly released when the lamp is switched off. This will help stabilise the temperature in the vivarium not only during the day, but also at night when required.
We recommend use with a thermostat and together with an additional daytime heat source such as the Arcadia Reptile Solar Basking Spotlight.
Available in 50, 75, 100 and 150 watt versions
Instructions for use:
The bulb is fitted with an E27 thread, which simply screws into the lamp holder. We recommend that it is used in conjunction with a thermostat.
