Exo Terra – 600W Pulse Thermostat – Day/Night Dimming helps create a highly precise heating control system that maintains the required temperature conditions similar to those in desert or tropical environments.

Reptiles are ectothermic and use external heat sources to thermoregulate their optimal body temperature. Most species rely on direct solar radiation combined with conductive heat from sun-warmed surfaces. In nature, these can include rocks, branches, sand, and other heat-retaining structures.

Providing the appropriate temperature for animals in a terrarium is one of the key factors in successfully keeping exotic pets. By using the Exo Terra thermostat, you can ensure the right temperature gradient suitable for your animal’s needs, similar to that found in a natural desert or tropical environment.

Exo Terra – 600W Pulse Thermostat also helps prevent overheating and overcooling during hot summer days or cold winter nights. Day and night temperatures can be set separately to ensure safe temperature fluctuations throughout the day and night. The Dimming & Pulse Proportional feature maintains the desired temperature with much higher accuracy than conventional thermostats and virtually eliminates temperature variations in the terrarium. The clear blue LCD screen displays both current and set temperatures and automatically increases LCD brightness during the day mode and uses dimmed lighting during the night mode.

How to use:

The red LED and heating symbol indicate when the heating device is on. Once the set temperature is reached, the LED turns blue and the heating symbol disappears. The temperature probe with a built-in light sensor automatically switches between day and night settings depending on the light intensity. Simply connect a heat mat, heat cable, ceramic heater or a heat bulb to the Exo Terra thermostat, set the preferred day and night temperatures, and place the heat sensor in the desired location. The thermostat’s push-button/dial system prevents accidental changes to the set temperature when the device is handled.
The thermostat features a 190 cm power cord with a grounded plug and socket for increased safety. This allows you to use it in combination with a power strip. The temperature sensor is waterproof and can safely be used in humid tropical terrariums.

The Exo Terra® thermostat should be set according to the animal’s needs. Carefully research the Preferred Optimal Temperature Range (POTR) for your specific reptile to create correct internal temperature gradients within the terrarium to allow reptiles to thermoregulate.
