Sonerila sp. "White Spots" is a collector's tropical plant with green leaves decorated with distinct, bright spots. This contrast makes the plant look almost hand-painted and immediately draws attention in a humid terrarium. Its compact habit, decorative foliage and exotic character make it an excellent choice for smaller, carefully designed layouts.
An exotic accent from the forests of Southeast Asia
Sonerila sp. "White Spots" comes from the humid forests of Southeast Asia. Plants from the Sonerila genus naturally grow in warm, constantly humid places, usually in diffused light and in a light, organic substrate. In a terrarium, it looks best in the foreground or midground of the layout, where its bright spots and dark leaves contrast well with mosses, roots and other plants with more uniform foliage.
Decorative leaves and compact growth
The greatest asset of Sonerila sp. "White Spots" is its leaves - dark green, distinctly spotted, set on delicate stems. Because of this, the plant looks very striking even as a single specimen. It does not dominate the enclosure with its size, but it attracts attention through detail, which makes it ideal for compositions where texture and contrast matter. This is a species that looks best up close - in small display terrariums, paludariums and humid plant cabinets.
Requirements and cultivation in the terrarium
Sonerila sp. "White Spots" grows best in high humidity, warm conditions and bright but diffused light. It thrives in a light, well-draining substrate that remains constantly slightly moist but not waterlogged. It does not tolerate drying out, and in air that is too dry it quickly loses its good condition.
IMPORTANT: do not allow the substrate to dry out or the air humidity to drop. Sonerila sp. "White Spots" grows best in stable, warm and humid conditions typical of a tropical terrarium.
