The substrate formula is crafted to closely replicate the natural environment from which these species originate. It retains moisture well, while maintaining an ideal texture for digging.

Additionally, the limestone content provides a source of calcium if ingested.

HabiStat substrates are packed in fully biodegradable and recyclable paper bags.

Directions for Use:

Spray the substrate regularly to maintain appropriate humidity levels. Spread it evenly across the bottom of the terrarium, ensuring a depth of 5-7.5 cm for small tortoises or 7.5-15 cm for larger individuals. If using under-tank heating (heating cable or mat), avoid a substrate layer that is too thick. Spot clean as needed and replace the substrate regularly.
